Breast asymmetry surgery corrects a difference in the size and shape of the breast or nipple position.
A slight difference in the right and left breast is common, but breast discrepancy in some women can be marked. Breast asymmetry surgery uses one or a combination of techniques to bring better balance to the breasts. For example, it may involve:
- Augmenting (enlarging) one or both breasts using different sized implants
- Reducing the size of one or both breasts
- Increasing the size of one breast and reducing the size of the other breast
- Raising a sagging breast
Your surgeon will advise on the most appropriate treatment for you. For further information on the different techniques, please see Breast Augmentation, Breast Reduction and Breast Uplift. These pages include a description of the technique, risks and treatment/recovery. Specific details in relation to your particular treatment will be discussed with you as part of your consultation. |
